Idaho Potato Bowl: Central Michigan vs Wyoming

When: Friday December 22nd, 4:00, ESPN

Current spread: Pick, O/U 44.5

All-time series: 1-1

One discarded QB who put in a stellar season vs a highly touted QB who fell flat. The underlying drama in this game will be worth a watch. How badly could Michigan have used Shane Morris this season? And how far did Josh Allen’s draft stock drop after under performing?

Morris (2,908 yds, 26 TDs) definitely showed Michigan what they were missing. WRs Mark Chapman (54-805-5) and Corey Willis (42-625-9) are prime targets for the Chippewas QB. TE Tyler Conklin (28-406-5) is a red zone threat you can’t ignore. The running duties fall into the hands of Jonathan Ward (988 yds, 9 TDs).

Josh Allen (1,658 yds, 13 TDs) didn’t quite live up to the hype this season. Everyone knows the talent is there though. WR Austin Conway (58-520-2) is his favorite target, but CJ Johnson (27-468-6) is the Cowboys’ big play receiver. Wyoming doesn’t run the ball a lot. RBs Trey Woods (474 yds, 2 TDs) and Kellen Overstreet (396 yds, 3 TDs) will be effective enough to open up the passing game.

This game is a pick. The eye test tells me to lean towards CMU. But you can never count a talented QB like Josh Allen out. I do like the under though. I don’t see a lot of points in this game.
