When: Tuesday December 26th, 1:30, ESPN
Current spread: Utah -7, O/U 56.5
All-time series: Utah 1-0
This will be a matchup between two teams whose expectations were higher than the end result. A 4 game midseason skid hurt Utah while WVU couldn’t seem to win big games, going 2-4 against ranked teams.
Dual threat QB Tyler Huntley will lead the Utes onto the field. He amassed 2,246 passing yards with 15 TDs and 480 rushing yards with 4 TDs during the season. Darren Carrington (66-918-6) is his main target downfield. RB Zack Moss (1,023 yds, 9 TDs) will handle the rushing duties.
WVU fans are excited that Will Grier has decided to return for his senior year. 3,490 yards with 34 TDs would be hard to replace. He has a quartet of WRs to throw to as well. David Sills (6-980-18), Gary Jennings (94-1,030-1), Ka’Raun White (58-978-11), and Marcus Simms (32-630-5) have terrorized defenses all season. RB Justin Crawford (1,061 yds, 7 TDs) had a great season too.
This game will be a good start to your Christmas hangover. The 1:30 start is a perfect time. You’ve had time to clean up the Christmas mess and the leftovers are ready to go. I think it’ll be a close game. I like WVU and the points with a lean towards the under.
