When: Wednesday December 27th, 9:00, ESPN
Current spread: Mizzou -2.5, O/U 60.5
All-time series: Texas 17-6
What do you expect from this game? You have an inconsistent Texas team against a resurgent Mizzou team. It will be interesting, to say the least. All eyes will be on Drew Lock, count on that.
Texas QB Sam Ehlinger (1,803-10-7) is also their leading rusher. He put up 368 rushing yards with 2 TDs this season. The Longhorns failed to find a RB that showed he deserved the carries though. After Ehlinger, Daniel Young (325-3) was the leading rusher. WR Collin Johnson (51-725-2) will be the main target through the air. If Ehlinger isn’t getting it done, watch for Texas to go to Shane Buechele.
Mizzou QB Drew Lock (3,695-43-12) can straight up air it out. He was a driving force behind their turnaround this season. And boy, does he have weapons. J’Mon Moore (60-1,017-10), Emmanuel Hall (33-817-8), and Albert Okwuegbunam (25-372-11) will be all over the field. Ish Witter (992-5) will handle the rushing duties.
With the way Missouri played down the stretch, I have a heavy lean towards laying the points. But I like the under. Texas hasn’t shown me enough offensively to instill confidence as far as putting points on the board.
