When: Thursday December 28th, 5:15, ESPN
Current spread: Pokes -4, O/U 63
All-time series: 1-1
Two exciting QBs, electric WRs, solid running game. This game is one of the better matchups on paper this bowl season. Get the chips and queso ready, pop open a cold one, and settle in.
Freshman QB Josh Jackson (2,743-19-8) will lead the Hokies on the field. Cam Phillips (71-964-7) had a great season as his main target. The running game features a two-headed attack. Travon McMillian (439-2) and Deshawn McClease (406-3) both got their share of carries this season.
The Pokes feature an outstanding QB as well. Mason Rudolph (4,553-35-9) was mentioned as a Heisman candidate for part of the season. Biletnikoff Award winner James Washington (69-1,423-12) will get help from Marcell Ateman (54-1,049-8) and Jalen McCleskey (49-633-5) when it comes to stretching the field. Justice Hill (1,347-14) is more than able to take control on the ground.
There are a lot of weapons on Oklahoma State’s roster. But don’t count out Josh Jackson and the Hokies. I think the over could be in danger early in the 4th quarter. Gun to my head, I’m laying the points. But this game could go either way.
