When: Friday December 29th, 5:30, CBSSN
Current spread: USU -4, O/U 63
All-time series: USU 30-7
Two 6-6 teams facing off usually doesn’t appeal to most football fans. But we’ll see some offense in this one. The teams have a history, having faced each other 37 times previously.
NMSU QB Tyler Rogers (3,825-26-16) loves to throw the ball. And he did quite often. Jaleel Scott (73-1,042-8) has been the recipient of a good chunk of these throws. These two connected with regularity this season. The ground game is in the capable hands of Larry Rose III (807-9). I look for this team to put up points on Friday.
Jordan Love (1,377-8-6) took over the USU QB duties about halfway through the season. The Aggies love to spread the ball around in the passing game. Ron’quavion Tarver (40-472-7) is their leading receiver out of this group. LaJuan Hunt (695-10) will handle the bulk of the carries on the ground. This team can score often and fast.
The total for this game has gone up a point and a half since the first lines came out. The sharps are expecting a lot of points in this one. I like Utah State laying the points, I love the over. I wouldn’t be surprised if both teams hit 40.
