How’s your bracket? Outside of Arizona, most brackets should be fine to this point. Earlier this week I mentioned that Arizona would either play with a chip on their shoulder or fall apart. They fell apart.
The first game of the day was exciting as Oklahoma & Rhode Island went into overtime. And this is where Trae Young and the Sooners lost it. His shot selection was very questionable and I think that did them in. Tennessee rolled, Gonzaga survived, and Kansas pulled away in the 2nd half to down a feisty Penn team.
Loyola gave us the highlight of the day. What a game that was, what a buzzer beater! Duke cruised easily to victory while Ohio State and Seton Hall earned hard fought wins. The late surge by South Dakota State made the last couple minutes of that game fun to watch.
Villanova was all over Radford from the opening tip. Kentucky survived a late 3-point barrage from Davidson to advance. The Houston/SDSU game was one of the best games of the day. Texas Tech, behind most of the game, pulled away to seal their victory.
Alabama/VT game was another great one to watch. I believe 6 points was the largest lead by either team. Buffalo trounced a sleepwalking Arizona team. Florida manhandled St Bonny while Michigan took care of Montana without any problems.
All in all, a great day of basketball. Let’s do this again today.
